I know my scanning isn't the greatest, but I'm still working out just how my new scanner works. I will update as I learn so that the picture quality gets better.
This is just a re-drawing of the first flower picture I have up here. The other one I had done a while ago, and I wanted to see how different it would be if I tried the same picture again. This is the result.
F pencil used for rough outline, 2B used to darken those lines, and a 7B pencil used for shading.
It is an improvement. Mostly in details and quality. ^_^
As for scanning.
1- Try placing the selection box as tight around your drawing as possible.
2- Set it to Photograph Color Scanning.
3- Set size to Original (or higher if you have the free space on your computer)
4- Set the resolution to 200-400 dpi
That should help.
Also, the darker the image, the less space it'll take up on your computer (no idea why). I strongly suggest investing in a External USB Hard Drive. I've learned that being a artist tends to eat up computer space a lot and pretty fast. It'll cost money, but it'll be worth it in the end.
